Show your support for good government and have a great time doing it! Come to a May Day fundraising event this Sunday in Northern Liberties to benefit SCRUB, the Society Created to Reduce Urban Blight, and NLNA, the Northern Liberties Neighbors Association.
This event will take place from 5 PM to 9 PM at the old Poor Henry's Brewpub, 835 North American St (between 2nd & 3rd, between Brown & Poplar Sts). It's the first of a series that will showcase various neighborhoods in the city, each co-hosted by a local civic organization in partnership with SCRUB. We hope to attract people from all over the city who are involved in community development, to celebrate their participation in volunteer and non-profit organizations.
Northern Liberties will showcase our local restaurants and businesses, more than 30 businesses are contributing food and raffle items. Local artists' works will be available in a silent auction, and music will be provided by the fabulous Northern Liberties Dance Band. In addition, there will be an exhibition by Temple University architecture students featuring models and visuals that show the rich history and evolution of Northern Liberties.
Tickets are $25 in advance or $30 at the door. Tickets can be purchased or reserved by charging online via Paypal's secure site at http://www.urbanblight.org, or by contacting SCRUB via Fax at 215-732 5725 or email scrub@urbanblight.org
