Budget Messages from City Departments

Every year in February and March, city departments come to City Council asking for their annual budget allocations. As part of their budget requests, they usually submit a written report in which they justify the money they are asking Council to give them. These "Budget Messages" are an excellent source of information on what a department has done in the past year, what it plans to do in the coming year, how it operates, etc. The City's fiscal year runs from July 1 of the preceding year through June 30. For example, FY 2004 runs from July 1, 2003 to June 30, 2004
