Public Hearing Notice
October 11, 2007
The Committee on Public Safety of the Council of the City of Philadelphia will
hold a Public Hearing Wednesday, October 17, 2007, at 1:00 PM, in Room 400, City
Hall, to hear testimony on the following items:
070275 An Ordinance amending Title 6 of The Philadelphia Code, entitled "Health
Code," by adopting certain provisions of the National Fire Protection
Association Standard on Fire Department Occupational Safety and Health Program,
NFPA 1500, related to hearing protection measures for Firefighters and
Paramedics, with amendments thereto, all under certain terms and conditions.
070025 Resolution authorizing City Council's Committee on Public Safety to hold
public hearings to examine and evaluate the feasibility of equipping emergency
call centers with "Incident Linked Multimedia" (Camera Cell Phone) type response
systems, and the crime fighting and security benefits they offer; in addition,
to determine the resources and planning required to enable the emergency call
centers, crisis response teams and citizens of our City to take advantage of
this technology.
070330 Resolution remembering, Memorializing, Honoring, and Mourning the 32
people slain at Virginia Tech on April 16, 2007, and authorizing City Council's
Committee on Public Safety to hold public hearings to investigate how safe the
College Campuses in The City of Philadelphia are; and, in furtherance of such
investigation, authorizing the issuance of subpoenas to compel the attendance of
witnesses and the production of documents to the full extent authorized under
Section 2-401 of the Home Rule Charter.
Immediately following the public hearing, a meeting of the Committee on Public
Safety, open to the public, will be held to consider the action to be taken on
the above listed items.
Copies of the foregoing items are available in the Office of the Chief Clerk of
the Council, Room 402, City Hall.
