Public Hearing Notice
April 7, 2008
The Committee on Law and Government of the Council of the City of Philadelphia
will hold a Public Hearing Thursday, April 17, 2008, at 9:00 AM, in Room 400,
City Hall, to hear testimony on the following items:
080320 An Ordinance providing for the submission to the qualified electors of
the City of Philadelphia of the proposal set forth in a Resolution approved by
Council proposing an amendment of the Philadelphia Home Rule Charter relating to
civil service regulations to provide that, when eligible lists for appointments
and promotions are established, those persons who have maintained a bona fide
residence in Philadelphia for at least one year prior to the date of the
examination shall prevail over all others who receive the identical test score;
and authorizing the appropriate officers to publish notice and to make
arrangements for the special election.
080336 Resolution proposing an amendment to the Philadelphia Home Rule Charter
relating to civil service regulations to provide that, when eligible lists for
appointments and promotions are established, those persons who have maintained a
bona fide residence in Philadelphia for at least one year prior to the date of
the examination shall prevail over all others who receive the identical test
score; and providing for the submission of the amendment to the electors of
Philadelphia.
Immediately following the public hearing, a meeting of the Committee on Law and
Government, open to the public, will be held to consider the action to be taken
on the above listed items.
Copies of the foregoing items are available in the Office of the Chief Clerk of
the Council, Room 402, City Hall.
