Public Records FAQ

  1. How current is the information on Hallwatch?

It depends. City government does not always provide records on a set time table. Some records change only infrequently (e.g., the tax assessor info. provided by the BRT or voter districts). In general pay portions of the site are updated more frequently than free, but this is not always true. For example, deed records, which are available only to paid subscribers, are updated once a month. However, information concerning bills before City Council, which is free, is updated in real time as soon as the Chief Clerk sends out notices.

  2. How can I tell when the public records I am consulting on Hallwatch were last updated?

For the most part results pages indicate when a particular database was updated. In the case of the Council bills and notices databases, currency info. is posted on Hallwatch's home page.
