Thursday, March 29, 2007--City Council approved the Casino referendum for the second time in two weeks today, unanimously voting to override the Mayor's veto. By doing so Council ensured that the casino referendum, barring any court challenges from the applicants or the Gaming Board, will be on the May 15 ballot. Please take a minute to thank your Councilmembers for their vote.

Dear City Council:
Thank you for vote to override the Mayor's veto and ensure
that the casino referendum will be on the May ballot. Philadelphians deserve
to vote on whether to invite Las Vegas size casinos into their neighborhood. Thank you for
supporting us when it really counted.
The referendum was initiated and brought to its successful conclusion by volunteers for Casino Free Philadelphia, who gathered over 27,000 signatures in support of the measure.
