You have denied Foxwoods Casino's request for huge cuts in its fair share of property taxes. This multimillion dollar business must live by the same rules which govern all taxpayers. You told them so and we taxpayers appreciate your courage in doing so!

Foxwoods argued in its appeal that its property, which it paid $65 million for in 2005, is now worth just $4.5 million. For the past two years, the BRT (Philadelphia's tax assessor) has put the value of Foxwoods' 22 acre property at Columbus and Reed at $45 million or about $2 million an acre, a conservative value when you consider that Las Vegas Casinos are valued at $11 million per acre. For example, the Las Vegas assessor valued the 20 acres of land owned by the New York New York casino at $221 million.
