Tell your officials: "Thank you for standing up to Foxwoods"

Please thank Philadelphia's Tax Assessor otherwise known as the Board of Revision of Taxes (BRT) for Denying Foxwoods a 90% Property Tax Cut!

Just use this link to send a fax showing your appreciation for their decision.

No time? Here is a sample message you can cut and paste-and edit if you wish- into your fax::

You have denied Foxwoods Casino's request for huge cuts in its fair share of property taxes. This multimillion dollar business must live by the same rules which govern all taxpayers. You told them so and we taxpayers appreciate your courage in doing so!

Many helped stop Foxwoods' greedy attempt to dodge its fair taxes by sending faxes before the BRT Hearing via Hallwatch.org. It is now time to thank our public servants for making the right decision!

For details, see The Daily News article in the Thursday, 6/21/07 newspaper.

Foxwoods argued in its appeal that its property, which it paid $65 million for in 2005, is now worth just $4.5 million. For the past two years, the BRT (Philadelphia's tax assessor) has put the value of Foxwoods' 22 acre property at Columbus and Reed at $45 million or about $2 million an acre, a conservative value when you consider that Las Vegas Casinos are valued at $11 million per acre. For example, the Las Vegas assessor valued the 20 acres of land owned by the New York New York casino at $221 million.
