The purpose of the committee is to advocate for inclusion of the public at
the Liberty Medal Ceremony.
First and foremost, committee members would like to see the ticket
requirement for the event eliminated so that everyone can attend. However,
if this is not possible, we would like the City to:
* Accommodate 2,000 "walk ups" i.e., members of the public without
tickets to attend the ceremony.
* Better inform members of the public how and where they can get
tickets.

The first formal meeting of the committee was August 10, 2003.
Members of the committee met with Bonnie Grant, Deputy City Representative,
and James Curorato, City Representative and Director of Commerce, on January
29, 2004, in the Office of the City Representative. The concerns of the
committee were discussed and the planning and logistics behind the event
were explained by Ms. Grant and Mr. Curorato. The City offered to discuss
the 2004 ceremony arrangements further after the announcement of the
recipient.
