Photo Ids for Voters (SB 824)

Urge state legislators to fight vote fraud by requiring photo ids.

This proposed legislation, which passed the House, and is now in the Senate, calls for a voter to present a photo ID card when voting. Phila Democrats are against this proposal and are using seniors, poor families, physically handicapped, etc. as reasons people may not be able to present a photo ID - I guess these same people never shop and pay with a check because all stores require a photo ID when accepting a check.

If a person does not possess a driver's license they can apply for an PA photo card as identification. This is long overdue, especially in Philadelphia.

My Mother's Story

My Mom had macular degeneration, loss of eye sight. This particular election, her Democrat committeeman came to her home with an absentee ballot. She did not want him to fill it out because she wanted to split her vote, and called me. I spoke with him and told him to mark her ballot with her choice. He stated he would absolutely do this. He filled in the ballot, had her sign, and she had him put a stamp on it and mail it for her.

The day of election the ballot was returned, unopened, marked insufficient postage. Upon opening, I saw he had marked the ballot by individual check marks, but only for candidates of his party.

We cannot forget the Bruce Marks/Bill Stinson race where voter fraud was found and Stinson lost his seat; or, the November 2000 election where four Democrat party officials were convicted for bribery and conspiracy in that election in which DA Abraham declined to prosecute and passed the case on to the State Attorney General. (Daily News Oct 2001)

Every election in Philadelphia we read of voter fraud. With the passage of SB824, we now have an opportunity to put a dent into this thievery.
