Subject:   SB 1421

Dear State Legislators:
I am opposed to Senate bill 1421. This bill will lead to the
creation of a weaker licensing standards for religious
programs. Child care licensing regulations protect children's
health and safety and create minimal education standards that
ensure children are nurtured and not warehoused.
The bill, as amended, creates a giant loophole in which
regulations, such as those that set ratios, group sizes or
educational qualifications for staff could be challenged.

Subject:   Photo Ids for Voters (SB 824)

Dear State Legislators:

The most important thing I do in May and November is vote. I
consider it my absolute duty and well as my only opportunity to
directly impact the course of my city, state, and nation. I
find it offensive that people posing as voters can potentially
change the course of an election.

In my daily life I must show ID to write a check, to board a
plane, to enter a Federal building. How much more important to
our country is the assurance that our votes are cast in a valid,
free election process.

Please pass this critical legislation. Those who claim it to be
discriminatory are offering specious arguments given the
ubiquitous requirement for photo ID in every other facet of our
lives. My late mother never drove a day in her life but managed
to obtain a "non-drivers license" which she carried (and
periodically renewed) for years. I find it very hard to believe
that this is such an incredible hardship. On the other hand, I
hope that it is completely chilling to anyone who plans to vote
on behalf of their dead mother...or someone else's dead mother.

Stand up for the integrity of the process that elected you!

Dear State Legislators:

I welcome a change in the voting standards in Pennsylvania
and urge you to vote YES on SB824. It's time has come! We
experience the requirement of a photo ID in our lives on a daily
basis whether it is to rent a car, cash a check, or enter a
government building.

It is not necessary to reiterate why a Photo ID is
ncessary, the time for excuses has past, it is not time for
action.

Thank you

R Ortega

Dear State Legislators:

I am writing in support of Bill 824, I am a committee person in
the city of Philadelphia and I think this Bill is a good idea.
Should this Bill pass, it should be published entirely at least
one month prior to election day. So that voters are reminded of
the requirement of a Photo ID.

It will take a little more time but it is worth it.

Thank you.

Subject:   Photo Ids for Voters (SB 824)

Dear State Legislators:

I strongly urge passage of SB824 which will require the
presentation of a Photo ID prior to voting. I take exception to
opposition arguments which state that this Bill is unfair to the
elderly, poor, and minorities, and cite that the use of Photo ID
has been initiated in other States and has proven to be
successful.

I believe that SB824 puts into place a requirement that will
help to ensure trouble-free elections.

Thank you for your favorable vote.
