Dear Mayor Nutter:

Thank you for revoking the SugarHouse submerged lands license!

Your predecessor, on his last day in office, authorized grading permits for the site of the proposed Sugarhouse casino. The Pennsylvania General Assembly has sued to stop the usurpation of state authority on riparian lands on the Delaware waterfront.

Title to the site is clouded by the riparian land issues and use and zoning permits should never have been issued and building permits, which require a completed zoning permit, should be held until the matter is resolved.

Given the overarching issues and the seriousness of the situation, I ask that you issue a Stop Work Order (SWO) to halt any grading and excavation at the SugarHouse location.

In addition, and no less important, is the fact that the initial archeological investigations on the site have uncovered significant 3500 year old Native American artifacts. The Pennsylvania Museum and Historic Commission must be given the proper opportunity to determine their importance before ongoing work obliterates any future recoveries.

Your swift action will reinforce your commitment to thoroughly review all decision related to the proposed casino locations.

Please take action immediately to demonstrate your support of the people who overwhelming backed you in your campaign for a New Philadelphia!!

Sincerely yours,
