letters.
Ok, so you've decided to write. Good for you! Letters from active, informed citizens help our elected officials make the right decisions.
Ask the Mayor and City Council to support an immediate moratorium on the 2003 assessments, while our elected officials study the problem.
On September 12, City Council voted to request that Mayor Street freeze tax assessments (Bill 20490). Also, Councilmen DiCicco and Nutter introduced legislation which would freeze tax assessments at the 2001 level (Bill 20491). (It's not clear whether the Mayor can freeze assessments himself or whether Council must act which is why Council took two separate actions).
Just fill out this form and hit the submit button and your letter will be faxed to to the Mayor and City Council.
Note: Use the "I want to keep my message private" checkbox if you'd rather not have your message posted on the site. Otherwise, your message will be posted on a public area of this site to inspire others to write. Initials will be used instead of a name, and no other personal information will be revealed. (If you fill out the Your Name: block, you don't need to type your name in the Message: block.)
