An anonymous web site sharply critical of Councilman DiCicco put in a brief appearance yesterday before it disappeared into electronic oblivion. The site, www.dumpdicicco.com, criticized the Councilman, among other things, for caring more about developers than voters, for driving a Porsche, and for not responding to letters.
View copies of dumpdicicco.com made before the site was taken down.
Internic records show the domain name, dumpdicicco.com, was obtained in April of this year by Christopher Jones of Arlington, Virginia. Hallwatch records suggest that dumpdicicco.com was in operation for at least nine days before it was taken down. Mr. Jones did not respond to repeated requests to speak about his web site.
Jones appears to do web design under the name of "Jones Enterprises" in addition to holding a full time job. Since Jones is not a Philly native, it seems reasonable to assume that he was paid to produce dumpdicco.com. I estimate the value of the work he did at between $2,000-$4,000.
