| Subject: | Tree Planting |
Hello,
Trying to have trees planted in my neighborhood has been a
continuing up hill battle for me. A few years ago I was able to
get one tree only one planted on my whole block right in front
of my house despite my plead for help in beautifying the
neighborhood. because of the many benifits of having trees
planted I'm still to this day asking for help. if you can't help
me please direct me to someone who will. I've seen trees being
planted in neighborhoods with only vacant lots so i don't
understand why it's so hard to get some planted in front of
houses.
Thank you for any help you can give me with this issue.

With your vote to sell Burholme Park you really dissappointed
me. I put a lot of faith in you Karen to do the right thing.
Why would you vote this way?

| Subject: | your letter thanking me for a "donation" when I was told that we must pay this fee |
Karen, we were told by the Special Events folks that a $500.00
fee was now required for holding an event on the West River
Drive (Rocky Run 2003, 10K run). Also, a deposit of $1,500.00
was also made as security for our event. Now, I receive a
letter from your office thanking me for a "donation" to the
Festival Fund that frankly is very misleading. I am the
chairperson for the event that we held on October 5, 2003. I
had requested all funds that your office told me I must submit
in order to have the event on the Drive. The monies were drawn
on the accounts of our Lodge after approval by our standing
Policy Committee. We are a 501C(3) organization and we must
follow the procedures defined by the IRS. Checks are
documented, explained and passed for approval by what I said.
What's the story? It appears that the Park Commission policies
are a bit unclear. After discussing this with the President of
our organization we feel that a clear explanation is in order so
that we may presnt the argument back to our Policy Committe for
documentation and approval. Please get back to me. Thanks.
