The Chair reported on the fundraising event for the Fairmount Water Works.

The Commission voted to adopt the recommendation of the Finance Committee:
(A) Fairmount Park Commission Portfolio Review
To approve the following changes to our portfolio as recommended by our
investment advisor:
To purchase $200,000 of U.S.A. Treasury Note due 2/15/07 with maturity proceeds
on $200,000.00 Par Texaco Cap Inc. due 12/15/1999.
(B) Request of the Philadelphia Museum of Art to lend works of art from the
Wilstach and Elkins Collections
To approve the Museum's request to lend the following paintings:
From the Wilstach Collection:
Portrait of Anthony Reyniers and Family by Cornelis de Vos
Christ Carrying the Cross by Bartolome Esteban Murillo
From the Elkins Collection:
The Life Line by Winslow Homer
The paintings will be insured on a-wall-to wall basis and will be accompanied by
a courier for travel and handling.

The Commission voted to adopt the recommendations of the Park Use Review
Committee:
(A) Request of Fairmount Management, proposed special events for year 2000
To grant at the request of Fairmount Management conceptual approval to plan for
special events for year 2000.
(B) The Chair reported for information the discussion during Committee meeting
concerning the use of mountain bikes on the trails of the Wissahickon. It was
determined that the issue of mountain bikes in the Wissahickon should be
revisited in the form of a public meeting and that a date and time be set to
invite interested parties to express their views.
REPORT OF Planning Committee
The Commission voted to adopt the recommendations of the Planning Committee:
(A) To grant the request of Mark B. Thompson and Associates for final approval
of the proposed plan for the rehabilitation and site improvements to the Cliff
Path System at the Fairmount Park Water Works.
(B) To grant the request
o昀 䘀愀椀爀洀漀甀渀琀 䴀愀渀愀最攀洀攀渀琀 conceptual
approval for the site and design of the Retail Rental Concession Building with
the understanding that Fairmount Management would return to Commission regarding
ownership, financing, etc.
(C) The Chair reported for information that Committee received a presentation
and demonstration of the Fairmont Park Geographical Information System (GIS)
Project.

The Commission voted to adopt the recommendation of the Property Committee:
The Commission unanimously voted to approve the request 漀昀 Meadowbrook
Golf Group, Inc. for an increase in rates currently charged at our public
courses. The Commission also noted that they were pleased by progress

The Fairmount Park Commission received the report of Commissioner James J.
Bloom, Designee to the Philadelphia Museum of Art Board of Directors.
Report of the Designee to the ryerss Mansion BOARD OF DIRECTORS
The Fairmount Park Commission received the report of Commissioner James J.
Bloom, Designee to the Ryerss Mansion Board of Director. After reporting on the
Ryerss Mansion, Commissioner Bloom suggested that since there are no formal
meetings of the Ryerss Board, it might 戀攀 洀漀爀攀 interesting to
the Commissioners if, on a bimonthly basis beginning February, he report on
other properties throughout the Park such as historic houses and stables to give
Commissioners a better flavor of the activities of various properties under the
administration of the Park Commission.
