Subject:   Caucaus Plan

Dear Representative:

I am a Pennsylvania resident and am writing in reference to
property tax relief in Pennsylvania. I already contacted my
representative; however, I feel the need to contact other
Pennsylvania legislators. Unfortunately many representatives
do not realize that we need significant and immediate property
tax relief. Many people across the state can no longer afford
their homes because of continual property tax hikes.
Personally, I am from a one income family, have three children,
and pay $6800 in school taxes alone. Needless to say, ACT 72
won’t help me much.

It is my hope that you work with your colleagues for the
support of eliminating property taxes altogether AND that you
consider the views of all Pennsylvanians, not just your
constituency, on this issue. Our representatives must do what
is right even if it is not popular in our “neighborhood.”

I have read and support the Commonwealth Caucus Plan. I hope
that you seriously consider this legislation or some variation
thereof. We all realize that a tax on food and clothing might
be a “bitter pill to swallow” but, realistically, five percent
amounts to very little. I personally believe that the food tax
will not significantly hurt people, specifically the poor, nor
will the clothing tax significantly hurt businesses whose
costumers are from a neighboring state.

Please consider my thoughts and thank you for your time.

Sincerely, Teddy

Subject:   colon bill

Representative Edward P. Wojnaroski ( Johnstown ) is circulating
a memo in the House looking for co-sponsors for a 3% COLA for
retired State Police Retirees.
Retirees should contact their Representatives and request they
contact Representative Wojnaroski’s office and co-sponsor this.
They can contact Ed’s Sec. Wendy Shearer at 787-7524 or
wshearer@pahouse.net. The more co-sponsors the better chance we
have.

The Memorandum reads in part, “In the near future I will be
introducing legislation to provide retired Pennsylvania State
Police with an annual 3% cost-of-living increase.

On a daily basis, Pennsylvania State Police Officers make
tremendous sacrifices in order to keep the public safe. As such,
I believe we must provide a stable and secure retirement that
mirrors their valor and acknowledges the life-threatening
experiences they were exposed to during their career.”

Send Representative Wojnaroski an email thanking him for his
efforts. I am sure he would appreciate it.

Rep. Argall, I know you are one of our strongest supporters.
Please assist it sponsoring this bill, as a retired Trooper, I
know how tight things become after several years of inflation. I
have been retired since 1998 and keeping up is tough. I gave
25.5 years and gave some of my best years to servicing the
Commonwealth. Please help us, we all need the raise. Thank You

Bernard L. Chatman
Retired Pa. State Police Trooper

Subject:   Susquehanna River #1 in Nation for raw sewage pollution

This is a disgrace. Our beautiful state should not be in the
papers reported by United Press International as having the
most polluted river in the nation. A river running with raw
sewage from top to bottom of this commonwealth. Are there any
plans in the House to address this environmental, public
relations, tourism disaster? I look forward to a response.
