| Subject: | NO CASINO AT GETTYSBURG |
Dear Gaming Boardmembers: I am writing you out of my very deep
concern about the possibility of your granting a Gaming License
to Mr. LeVahn to establish a Gambling Casino so very near to
the Hallowed Ground of The Gettysburg Battlefield, in
Gettysburg, Pennsylvania.
Surely, each of you must realize what a
monumentously "stupid" decision this would be in the history of
Pennsylvania politics. No one has to be a student of American
History to know the sacrifices that so many men and women made
during the first three days of July 1863 to preserve our United
States of America.
By even your consideration of this possible tragedy, you in
effect, snub your collective noses at the lives of those brave
men and women, both North and South, who gave so much so that
you and I could have so much.
Please, in the Name of all that is Holy, DO NOT GIVE MR.
LEVAHN HIS GAMING LICENSE!!
Please have the courage to KEEP THE GETTYSBURG AREA "HOLY
GROUND", because in all truth, it is that: "HOLY AND SACRED
GROUND", and should not be desecrated by the presence of a
Gambling Casino, no matter how much money Mr. LeVahn stands to
make.
Thank You for being as Courageous as those Thousands of Rebs
and Yanks were in 1863!!!
Patriotically Yours,
Rev. John T. Campbell, President
The Greater Pittsburgh Civil War Round Table (200 Members)

Hon. Dermody:
Please ensure that HB 1318 does not include restrictive voter
identification requirements and rolls back the voting rights of
former felons they must oppose the bill. Voting is our right
and responsibility as Americans. I hate to think that on your
watch some of those rights would be taken away. I trust you
will uphold your oath to defend the rights of the citizens of
Pennsylvania.
Thank you,
Tereneh Mosley

Frank- It's late Saturday night and I am checking my Food Bank
email. I just read in Politics PA of the announcement that you
plan to not seek reelection to the House but instead pursue the
joys of administration and performing the duties formerly
reserved for multiple row officers. My first impulse was to
call you at home to express my reaction to this news but didn't
want to interrupt your viewing of the news or MAD/TV or
whatever people with cable watch at this time. In any event, I
am sure that--if this news is true-- it is too late to ask that
you reverse this decision. Although I do wish that you would.
Instead, when I stumbled upon this mechanism for communicating
with elected officials, I thought that I might take advantage
of it. It's call "Hallwatch" and, as I think you know, I have
been watching the Hall (or at least the PA General Assembly)
since 1974... so this seemed like an appropriate way to get in
touch with you. My first reaction to this news is that it truly
stinks! Government (and especially our state government) needs
more Frank Dermodys not one fewer. Upon reflection, I
understand that you have an opportunity to serve the citizens
of Allegheny County in another way and I wish you luck in that
endeavor. My point is that in the more than 30 years of
observing and working with members of the House and Senate, and
that includes hundreds of people; it is clear to me that you
are one of the very best. Your intelligence, your integrity,
your diligence, your concern about the really important issues
and your compassion for people in need will be hard, if not
impossible, to replace. It has been an honor and a privelege to
know you (and I would say that even if you weren't Irish--
alhough that certainly didn't hurt)and I wish you all the best
as you move on to other challenges and successes. I hope that
our paths will continue to cross and I know that, as always, I
will be the better for it. Congratulations on a job very well
done. God bless you. Denny

Mr. Dermody
As a parent of a child with autism I was disappointed not to
find your name as a supporter of the two bills that have an
affect on not only childern with autism but also the prevention
of other childern who could become autisic from provding them
with mercury-free vaccines. It is hard everyday to deal with a
child with autism I am asking you not to make it an economic
burdon also. This State could provide the funds for social
programs if the corporations in this state would pay their fair
share of taxes. I also understand that if the federal
government would provide the proper funding this action would
not be necessary. As a state lawmaker you have the ability to
correct one of the proplems as a voter, next year I hope to
change the other.
Please reconsider your position and sign on to sponser and
support both bills. Below is the part of the e-mail I recieved
from ABOARD your name is not listed as a supporter of either
bill if this is not correct you should contact them as soon as
possible for the cortrection. Frank I have been a long time
supporter of yours for I believe you have been on the right
side of the issues for the working people of this state on this
issue I have to consider you being on the wrong side.

| Subject: | PAY RAISE |
We see that you voted YES for the Budget and YES for the Pay
raise.
We've not heard you on the radio explaining your YES vote on
the pay raise. We urge you however to please strongly consider
supporting the movement which is gaining momentum to REPEAL the
pay raise. REPEAL IT! It's un-ethical.
You don't have constituents that are enormously wealthy. My
husband has his own business. He works daily from 7am to, many
times past, 7pm. Outside, in the heat and the cold. And we
don't make half of what you do. It is insulting to have seen
your fellow legislators sign on to the un-voutured expense
provision. That's positively unheard of in a business setting.
You should be ashamed.
And then for this $135 million secret, un-auditable (by the
State Auditor) slush fund! Shame. Shame. Shame. If there is
that much unspent money in government, then LOWER OUR TAXES! We
can't believe how cavalier the legislature is being with our
money! We're also concerned that the State Supreme Court was/is
somehow complicit in this. And NO OVERSIGHT? Our family is
outraged. We have four voters in our household. We're going to
be watching your future actions concerning any legislative
measures involving the repeal of this pay raise. And we'll
remember it when you next ask for our vote at the ballot box.
