Subject:   Casino at Gettsyburg

Dear Gaming Boardmembers:
Gettysburg, a sacred and hallowed place. A place of teaching, of
lessons learned. A place where a nation may have become
perminetly divided. And now, almost 150 years later, another
battle rages. Two points of view. The people, who wish to keep
this historic place for all generations to come, as a monument
and a reminder of what can happen when greed clouds judgment.
And the self centered, all to present “company” who insists that
this is what is needed to insure future stability.
The people who live there, visit there, have family buried there
and teach their children there, have spoken. Listen carefully
to their words and follow their lead. Do not allow this place to
fall into the hands of the money hungry corporation who would
only take advantage of this historic site to line the pockets of
those who know less about the historic value and lessons learned
than do the silent stones that line the endless fields.
Do Not allow a casino to be built in Gettysburg!

Vote for HB 257 - we want a minimum wage of $7.15 an hour or
nothing! It's time PA stepped up and paid something a little
closer to a Living Wage for the working poor of our state.
Progressive voters and others will remember how you voted on
this basic values bill in November.

Subject:   Senate Bill 130

Please schedule Senate Bill 130 for consideration by the Finance
Committee. A great deal of money could by saved by passing this
Bill. In some instances two secretaries could be hired for the
price of one. You could save on benefits with new hires
replacing the upcoming retirees. We constantly hear rumors each
year about a thirty and out but it never comes to fruition. It
was my understanding that Rendell had promised the teachers 30
and Out. Could someone please explain to me why those in
political office don't think it's a good idea? Thank you.
