| Subject: | NO CASINO AT GETTYSBURG |
Dear Gaming Boardmembers: I am writing you out of my very deep
concern about the possibility of your granting a Gaming License
to Mr. LeVahn to establish a Gambling Casino so very near to
the Hallowed Ground of The Gettysburg Battlefield, in
Gettysburg, Pennsylvania.
Surely, each of you must realize what a
monumentously "stupid" decision this would be in the history of
Pennsylvania politics. No one has to be a student of American
History to know the sacrifices that so many men and women made
during the first three days of July 1863 to preserve our United
States of America.
By even your consideration of this possible tragedy, you in
effect, snub your collective noses at the lives of those brave
men and women, both North and South, who gave so much so that
you and I could have so much.
Please, in the Name of all that is Holy, DO NOT GIVE MR.
LEVAHN HIS GAMING LICENSE!!
Please have the courage to KEEP THE GETTYSBURG AREA "HOLY
GROUND", because in all truth, it is that: "HOLY AND SACRED
GROUND", and should not be desecrated by the presence of a
Gambling Casino, no matter how much money Mr. LeVahn stands to
make.
Thank You for being as Courageous as those Thousands of Rebs
and Yanks were in 1863!!!
Patriotically Yours,
Rev. John T. Campbell, President
The Greater Pittsburgh Civil War Round Table (200 Members)

Your spokesperson states that "WE" which I guess also includes
you is we do not know where they are getting these people. I
can't believe that as long as you have been in politics you are
questioning HOW or you are that gullible. I guess you all still
believe in the tooth fairy as well as the easter bunny.
They are probably some politicans family, friend or someone
they owe a favor to. Isn't that how all of you work in politics.
ONE FOR YOU, ONE FOR ME AND THE HELL WITH THE CONSTITUANTS. I
hope what happened in the primarys is just the tip of the ice
berg of things to come.

| Subject: | Postpone these hastily made decisions. Extend the deadlines. |
Dear Gaming Board Members:
If I understand correctly, June 2 is the deadline for the public
to comment on proposals. By September 2006, horse racing tracks
will receive licenses to operate slots. By December 2006, you
plan to have stand-alone casinos licensed; by March 2007, the
slots will go live at the horse tracks; and by December 2007,
stand-alone casinos will begin their operations.
I hardly think that there is sufficient time before June to
consider the impact that these proposed slots and gambling
casinos would have on our communities.
There have been exhaustive studies showing how casinos will harm
our communities. I have seen no evidence contrary to those
studies. None. You need to postpone the deadline for public
comment at least another six months, and another year before
licensing casinos.
I also read where you have not been willing to release all of
the non-confidential portions of the applications filed by
possible casino operations in December. What's the rush? Why the
secrecy? The impact of gambling on our communities will be
staggering. It takes longer to approve a stop light that it does
to ram a casino venue down our throats. And that is just how it
feels.
Pennsylvania is a beautiful state with opportunities for small
shop owners and restaurants to earn a fair living in our rural
communities. That goes out the window anywhere there is a casino.
Gettysburg, a peaceful, historic rural community, would be
ravaged by a casino! Pittsburgh, even though a large city, is
surrounded by rural communities that have been able to enjoy low
crime rates and opportunities for tremendous growth without the
support of casinos and gambling. A casino in these areas will
only hurt our economy and the quality of our neighborhoods.
What are you Pennsylvanians thinking?
Most sincerely,
Susan A. Ellis
