| Subject: | Gettysburg casino application |
Dear Gaming Boardmembers:
With regards to the casino application filed by Chance
Enterprises submitted for Straban Township, near Gettysburg, I
am opposed to this location! My family and I are frequent
visitors to the Gettysburg area and also have family members in
Lancaster.
When we travel Route 30 from Gettysburg to Lancaster, we
encounter some of the most congested traffic in the state! The
area from Gettysburg through York is particularly bad.
Exaccerbating the situation are the small, historic towns, such
as Gettysburg and New Oxford, that have "squares" directly on
Route 30 that are extreme bottlenecks! To remove these
bottlenecks will destroy the historic aspects of those towns.
Should the infrastructure of the Gettysburg area be adversely
affected by the licensing of this application, my family and I
will curtail the frequency of our visits. These are tourist
dollars that will go elsewhere.
I am not opposed to gambling in Pennsylvania, although I am not
a gambler. I am vehemently opposes to the Gettysburg
location. For this state to permit this license is a slap in
the face to the very fabric of what made the United States.
Please deny this application!
