Tax Reform

First, the bad news: Philadelphia is in decline. As a city we have been losing jobs and people for the last fifty years.

Why?

In his recent report City Controller Jonathan Saidel made a persuasive case that Philadelphia's excessive and unfair taxes have led residents and businesses to abandon the city in droves.

Now, the good news. Saidel thinks we have a shot at reforming our crazy taxes that are sucking the economic lifeblood out of our city.

What can you do to help? First, inform yourself about Philadelphia's god awful tax mess. Then get involved:

Serious reform is not the kind of things politicians can or should tackle on their own. If they are to do the right thing, they will need our help, our support and the threat of our anger before they will act.
